Abnormality on 20 week scan

Hi all,

Just wanted to see if anyone has been in the same boat as currently losing my mind waiting for an appointment from fetal medicine!

Went for our 20 week scan today and although little boy is growing well and all 4 chambers of his heart can be seen, they have said that the pulmonary artery on the 3VV view looks enlarged so are referring me for a specialist scan. I also only have one artery in the umbilical cord instead of two.

Has anyone else experienced this and everything turned out okay?

@Rachel19852022 what did they pick up on your first 20 week scan in order to refer you for another one if you don’t mind me asking I know it’s really personal

Good luck. Hope it went as well as possible? My son had this he’s 2 now and you would never even know he was so poorly. He had his surgery at Birmingham

I think the wording was they couldn’t obtain a normal view of 3VV & 3VT.

Mine also was unable to obtain 3Vv views. It’s because TGA the loop is at the back so they can’t see the cross over on the scan.
