Anti D injection - how long does it last?

Hello,

I know that you need anti D after a fall/ bump to your bump or any bleeding. But my question is how long does it last and does each "event" need anti d

E.g. if I bumped my bump and had anti d and then 3 weeks later bumped it again, would I need another one or is it covered by the first one for a period of time?

Thanks in advance :)

Hi op. Yeh you would need another dose. I recently had my anti d and was told id need it again in the event something happened and if baby is a positive blood group. Hope this helps. Xx

@MrsCtobe91 thank you! I thought I read something about it lasting 6 weeks but maybe that's just if nothing else happens

I had my 28 week anti D and had a bump to my stomach about 3 weeks later and was told I needed to go in for monitoring and a second anti d. It’s every time you’ve had a bump to the stomach or any bleeding.

Thank you @Flowerbug1994 :)

For anyone who comes across this thread, the midwife said you can have it as much as needed in pregnancy if you have any knocks or falls or bleeds etc :)
