Clear blue weeks estimator

Hi

Currently 5w4d and just done something stupid and took a clear blue digital weeks one and it said 2/3, but I got a 3+ a week ago, I can't stop crying and thinking that it's bad news and I don't want to kid myself into thinking it's because my pee was diluted cause surely if my hormones doubled all the time it would show 3+ all the time :(

I have a scan next Thursday but now I'm dreading it

Those tests can be quite unreliable. How have you been feeling? Any bleeding or cramps? Symptoms?

No bleeding or cramps, been feeling sick every morning and odd boob pain xx

@mrsgtobe97 hey lovely, We are on another thread together, I'm not sure if you saw my post the other day with what happened to me and my tests, so I'm 6 weeks today, I tested Tuesday snd had very very strong line much stronger then the control line, I then tested Thursday, and the lines were so much lighter, back to being same as control line.... I was pretty sure I was going to miscarry, but then I read about the hook effect! Where your hormones basically get too high for the test and confuse it..... so I tested again - two tests, one pure urine and one urine and 70% water.... these were my results, top ones is the diluted! Hope this brings you some comfort! If it is the hook effect your hormones nust be getting high!!!

So when mine dropped on test I was 5+4 also :) but it didn't drop it had risen x

Just did one with FMU and it's 3+, not doing ANYMORE tests!!!!

@mrsgtobe97 me either! I have my scan tomorrow! I'm still having a little bit of brown spotting so I'm so nervous x

I did one when I would have been 5weeks and got 2-3 weeks. Had a scan at 10 weeks and saw a wriggling little baby... Got my dating scan Wednesday. So while it's still early days for me I don't think the weeks thing is very accurate! So try not to worry too much. Easier said than done, I know

So had the scan, she could see where the bleeding was coming from, it was a cyst on ovary, as it was external she couldn't see much, a sac and a yolk.. worrying me is she dated me 5+4 when I know I am at absolute least 6+1 I'm just hoping it isn't very accurate at this point xx

Thank you this makes me feel better, I got 3+ with FMU so I think my pee was just very diluted, so I'm not panicking too much just now, got a scan next Thursday so that will tell me :) xxx

I think I commented on your other thread, I think you need an internal to see everything fully this early so the fact she saw all that with the belly one is a good sign I think :) and dates aren't too far off so I think it's positive for you. When you getting rescanned? Xx

@mrsgtobe97 oh sorry I missed that!!!! Yeah I googled "what should be seen at six weeks" and it sounds right was just worried about them putting me back five days, but I spoke to a friend earlier who's pregnant and she said they dated her at her first scan 5+1 then she jumped to 7 a week later so fingers crossed 🤞

I got 2-3 weeks on a Clearblue digital on Thursday morning, and then I had a blood test on Saturday and my beta HCG was over 14,000, so I don't think they are very reliable.

@babyjellyfish how many weeks are you? I had my results this morning but don't really know what the average is?! X

Just wanted to update this so if anyone comes across this they can have some reassurance, just had a scan and everything was perfect & measured one day ahead at 6w4d and saw the flickering heartbeat ❤️ no more clear blue digitals for me 😅😅

Hi @Moosh18. My HCG was 14,000 at 5+4 and 27,000 at 5+6.

It can very hugely though.

I was at 40,000 at 6 weeks with my son and 50,000 at 6 weeks with a pregnancy that I went on to lose at 7 weeks.

@babyjellyfish I'm thinking I'm on for bad news.... I'm 6+1 on first draw which was 22,300 nothing concerning there but then the next ones just under 48 hours later we're only 24,432 so no where near enough

HCG is a funny thing and doesn't always behave in the way we expect it to.

Have you got another scan booked?

@babyjellyfish ha that's what the doctor said! Yeah they are sending me to epu tomorrow, I'm 7 weeks tomorrow or Saturday so should be able to see something! They will do an internal there at least x

Yes, make sure they do an internal one. Abdominal ones aren't reliable at such an early gestation.
