Many Antibiotics in Pregnancy

Hi all! I was diagnosed with bacteria in urine (no symptoms) and have been prescribed 2 doses of penicillin one of nitrofuratoin and a 4 of amoxicillin 875 td for 7days. None have worked for the bacteria but the amoxicillin was able to lower the colony count substantially. Doctor wants me to take another course of amoxicillin to see if we can kill the bacteria. This would be my 5th course and I am really scared. No symptoms up to now. I am 18 weeks. Has anyone had a similar experience? Or had asymptomatic bacteria that turned into infection later on? Really worried about the amount of antibiotics and how it could affect baby! Thank you all!!

I didn't have any antibiotics during my pregnancy and although I can't imagine a doctor would give anything unsafe if I was in your situation I would ring your midwife just to double check the types and dosage etc are safe

I had about 5-6 courses for blood in urine.
And one for a painless heavy bleed at 13 weeks.

In the end as I had no symptoms they decided to take a wait and see approach and stopped prescribing them to me and baby and I were fine without.

Have a healthy happy two year singing Zoom Zoom next to me. No know after effects, but I can understand why you're worried.
