Sex is so painful whats wrong with me?

I'm 18 weeks today and I barely have a sex life anymore. We couldn't dtd in the first trimester because of hyperemesis and now we can't dtd because it's so fucking painful.
We've gone from 3 times per week pre pregnancy to nothing.
Everything feels normal on the outside but any penetration feels painful, like my vagina won't open then afterwards it feels sore for hours. I had a swab done a few weeks back and there's no infection so what the hell is wrong with my vagina?

This is my second pregnancy and I never had this issue last time.

Could you have developed vaginismus? Not sure if you've ever heard of it but google it and see if that matches your experiences

Thanks. I've had a look and I don't think it's that as I use an elvie pelvic floor trainer without any difficulty.

I had some kind of infection in the first trimester and we didn't do it for weeks. After the gap I had exactly the kind of pain you described; the solution for me was to do it more often; after penetration, if we didn't do it again within about a week then I had similar pain the next time. Of course it was easier said than done...

We tried lube but it made no difference. Im going to try a canestan pessary in case there's a bit of thrush as i had antibiotics recently.
If that fails I might have to go with your method @Sbena.
