Cramps in early pregnancy

Hi, I’m new to mumsnet, basically me and my fiancé had been ttc since last year and I had a miscarriage in august 2021 at 6 weeks - I have literally just found out I’m pregnant again (literally 4weeks pregnant) which We are absolutely over the moon with, however I’ve been experiencing very mild cramps in my lower stomach (not as painful as period cramps) and also lower back pain on and off. I have no one else to ask as I don’t want to let anyone know I’m pregnant yet because I’m petrified of losing this one again! I’ve had no brown discharge or anything or blood when I wipe, I basically just want to know if anyone else felt these types of cramps and carried on to have a healthy baby. Thank you ☺️

Yes absolutely- cramps were one of the first symptoms I had. For me, they lasted a few weeks and then subsided. Congrats on your pregnancy

I am almost at the same stage as you, I am 3 weeks 5 days pregnant according to an app I have

I've had cramping all day today. I'm also worried about this as mine feel very similar to period pain and are kind of more on one side? I also am yet to be "late" as I tested early and got quite strong positive tests. I'm a flurry of excitement and anxiety!

@catlady10 congratulations! It’s nice to not be alone in how we’re feeling and hopefully it is normal! Yes I also tested early, I found out at 3 weeks 4 days! This is (hopefully) going to be a long 9 months 🤣 x

I lots of period like cramping in early pregnancy. Even had more pain on one side. Everything was fine at 12 and 20 week scan. I am now 27 weeks.

Hi OP, congratulations! I'm exactly the same as you in that I miscarried last august and just found out I'm pregnant last week also! I've had mild cramping too.

My cramping has stopped now but I'm having bad headaches and hot flushes!! 🔥

@catlady10 cramps have eased today, also I’ve just noticed a slight pink tinge when I wiped..I’m praying this isn’t the start of another miscarriage 😖 x

I had lots of cramping until about 8-9 weeks with my first pregnancy. Spoke to the midwife and she said it was normal, now have a healthy 3yo. Pregnant again now and had cramping again but now 18 weeks

@catlady10 i don’t think it could be implantation as that happens before BFP..trying to stay positive it was just one of those random things that happens in the journey of pregnancy! X

I too am new to mumsnet and came online to find out the very same thing!! - Very relieved to read others are experiencing this. I was convinced I wasn't pregnant, a) because I took 2 early detection tests and they both came back negative and b) because I've been getting cramps that feel very similar to the once I get around my period. Period 2 days late, so took a pregnancy test literally a few hours ago which has come back positive. Feeling stunned and first reaction was to panic about the cramps!

Yes to cramping. Period type cramps lasted ages early in pregnancy. They got fairly extreme for me a week or two after implantation ( but had just gone through the whole ivf egg retrieval and suprisingly painful insemination so think that was the v early pain). Then hung around in period is coming type pains for weeks.

I was told it was everything rearranging itself. Lots of changes happen early on. Cramping came back around 13 weeks when uterus moved up.

I'm now a day away from 27 weeks and been told at all checkups baby seems healthy and happy. Pains have changed to more pelvic and stretching type pains past several weeks as bump grows.

Cramping is very normal. I was suprised how much you can feel going on very early in pregnancy.

Thank you both for your replies! My cramping seems to of eased now, only been getting the odd pulling sensation and no more pink tinged cm since that first time 🤞🏽🤞🏽 You worry about getting pregnant and then when you finally get that BFP you still just constantly worry 🤣 x

27 weeks pregnant and I think I've worried about something different each week.

How is everyone? I was very tired and had a bit of nausea earlier in week but for the last two days I seem to have more energy but I am ravenous! My boobs are tingly and sensitive too.

@Quadrilingual I've had a constant verrry mild cramp/pulling and literally no other symptoms so far. I almost wish I did have more symptoms so I would know I'm still pregnant 🤣

I'm still really struggling to believe I'm pregnant. I'm still testing every day just to make sure my two lines are still there 🥹 AF was only due today for me and she didn't show up so I guess I can take that as a positive!!

When does the worry end? Or does it never end? 🤣

I've never been pregnant before, how do you go about arranging ante natal appointments/scans etc? Do I just phone my GP?

@catlady10 i know me too I’ve tested every day till I got a dye stealer yesterday so I’m stopping now! I have no idea about appointments I rang my
gp a couple of days ago to ask n the receptionist wasn’t very helpful, she said I don’t book midwife’s apps through and told me to register that I’m pregnant on some website I can’t even remember what she said..but my friend who’s pregnant at same gp had her midwife apps there so I’m gonna call back again Monday! I’ve booked a private scan for 6weeks6days to check everything is ok! Xx

These are my tests and the rational side of my brain says they're fine but I'm carrying on testing just in case 🤣xx

I had extremely severe cramping pains in early pregnancy, bad enough that I ended up in hospital having a scans, bloods etc. no cause ever found. My little girl is 7 months old now fingers crossed everything works out for you too

Sorry to jump in, I'm 5w4d and got a 3+ on clear blue last Saturday with FMU, just took one thinking it'll still be 3+ but it's 2-3 and now I can't stop thinking the worst :( I'm so worried

@mrsgtobe97 im not really sure on the digital tests, I’ve heard they can be quite unreliable..I know it’s hard but I would prob stop the testing now, if you got a 3+ then that’s fab! Xx

Hi all, Is it ok for me to join, Just wanted to ask how everyone is feeling.
So I am 4weeks 1day, and the cramping can be so intense at times, is anyone else experiencing this, ive no other symptoms at all apart from the constant pains/cramping, which is making me wonder. X

@Mamastarz i have got more pulling/heavy sensations now more than cramps, but still having lower back cramps on and off! If you are not in excruciating pain and having no red bleeding you will be absolutely fine, it’s frustrating I know but we all just need to be positive ❤️ I’m 4 weeks 6 days today x
