Early scan

I had a scan when I thought I was 6 weeks but couldn't see anything, going to another on Sunday would be a day before 3 weeks. Really worried there isn't anything there or something has gone wrong.

How long ago did you get your first positive test?

I tested positive on the 22/04 so 3 weeks on Friday, I didn't test before this so not sure if it would have been negative before this

Have you tired doing digital pregnancy test, the one that tells you how many weeks you are ?
Was gestational sac visible ?

Not yet I'm in Greece and no shops even sell a normal test, I'm back on Saturday afternoon so going straight to get one then, I think I'm only anxious because I had spotting last week and passed a large clot then the spotting stopped. I was worried about mc but thought I would wait it out then it stopped but I assume the bleeding would have been heavy and I would have had bad cramps if it was. I spoke to EPU about spotting they said unless it was like a period there wasn't anything to worry about which it wasn't.

Looking forward to the scan but worried

Was it a strong line or quite a faint one?

Sorry no sac was visible she just said the lining was thick and if the tests say I'm pregnant then I'm pregnant she also said it's probably too early and I ovulated late my cycles are quite mixed from 28-32 days but it must have been even longer than that! I guess I just have to hope for the best for Sunday

It was quite faint then did them over a few days it got darker did a clear blue digital that said pregnant and same a week later

OK, so if you don't know when you ovulated and your first test was faint, I would assume that you were 10 DPO on 22nd April, which would make you exactly 6 weeks today.

When did you have your scan?

25th April my LMP was 11th March

If your scan was on 25th April then it might have just been too early to see anything, but it would mean you ovulated really late, over 4 weeks after your period.

Do you usually have regular cycles?

My shortest cycle has been 28 days and longest 32, I have had one long cycle being 37 days in September ( I track periods using the Flo app) but other than that between 28-32

When did you last take a pregnancy test?

I would expect to see a gestational sac by the time you are 5 weeks, but by then you should be getting 2-3 weeks on a Clearblue digital with the weeks indicator, or a dye stealer - where the test line is so strong that it sucks some of the dye out of the control line - on a First Response.

It was Monday the 2nd but it was a normal clearblue digital, not the weeks indicator one it just says pregnant, I have attached a picture of the first test I did on the 22nd

Well when you can, get either a First Response or a Clearblue with the weeks indicator and see what happens. You'd want to be getting 3+ by now on the Clearblue.

I wouldn't expect to see anything on a scan three days after getting a test line that faint.

For now I would just assume that you ovulated two weeks late and are only just 6 weeks along now.

If you do a Clearblue and don't get 3+, I'd be a bit more worried about that bleeding you had.

When is your next scan?

It's on Sunday, I get back Saturday afternoon I guess I just have to hope for the best, the clot i lost is the only thing worrying me but googling gives both sides, I'll just have to wait and see

Yeah, wait and see I'm afraid.

But assuming you're minimum 6 weeks by now, you'll want to see a fetal pole and a heartbeat by Sunday really.

In your position I might do a Clearblue with the weeks indicator on Saturday so you can mentally prepare yourself for bad news if you don't get a 3+.

Hey I went for an early scan today due to cramping and they only found the gestational sack measuring 5mm but no yolk or fetal pole I’m 5weeks 3 days and they said it’s normal to not see much and to come back in 2 weeks. I’m so anxious as this didn’t happen with my 1st he was visable at 5 week 😓
