1st pregnancy I was offered sweeps from 38 weeks due to baby measuring big (even though when born he wasn't particularly big )

They are saying this baby is big as well, and they have said they would probably induce me if baby not born by 40 weeks

Can I request to start having sweeps from 38 weeks? I really don't want to be induced if I don't need to be

Last baby born 39+6 (i had 2 sweeps I think)

There is no evidence that sweeps work but with DD2 I had my first sweep at 36+6 with the consent of the consultant.

In our area they won't do them till 40 weeks. I don't know if this is country wide or not.

We're only allowed to do them before the due date if the consultant has said it's okay and has documented that in the notes. That's the case in the three hospitals I've worked in anyway.

Thank you all for advice, will just have to hope they make an appearance before 40 weeks 🤣😫

My midwife was happy to perform sweeps from 38 weeks onwards as long as the consultant had written his agreement into my notes.
