Health visitor ante natal visit?

Can anyone advise me what to expect? I didn't know they visited people before birth but apparently so. As I've been under consultant care I haven't even met any of the community midwives or been contacted by them so it was a surprise when the hv contacted me today wanting to arrange an appointment. I can't really be arsed with this but am going to arrange something just to keep them happy.

They will outline what the HV service does. Signpost you to various support in the community.
Please don't feel that you have to have the visit if you don't want it.

I had a low risk pregnancy and had one of these too. Its absolutely not personal. They will just introduce you to the service and probably give you their contact details if you want to get in touch before the official visits. I got a very patronising leaflet too telling me that...wait for it....babies cry! 😂
I felt a bit paranoid about it beforehand but to be honest I think they are just excited to be out and about again after COVID! They were a friendly bunch and nothing to worry about imo.

Congratulations and wishing you a smooth birth! X

Thankyou, I'm maybe just overthinking it. Off work at the minute so just thinking I could do without a visit when I'm lying about in my jammies all day drinking gaviscon 😅
