Anyone had 1 MMC/ MC and then a successful pregnancy?

I have 1 dc who's 5.

MMC earlier this year.

Got a bfp Friday and I'm understandably terrified. Everything I have read says people have had more than one mmc/ mc/ chemical before going on to have a successful pregnancy.

Has anyone had one loss?

Yep, DTs conceived next cycle. And I was a wreck for most of the pregnancy. Book an early reassurance scan. I had mine at 7 weeks but I think they can do them even earlier now.

congratulations!

Yes I had an mmc and conceived dc3 two cycles after it.

Yes me, 1 DC. MC at 7w in the January, didn't feel ready to try again until September, BFP first month of trying and then absolutely perfect pregnancy. Good luck OP!

Yes I had one miscarriage and then 2 successful pregnancies.

dreamyunicorn · 09/05/2022 14:33

Oh thank you so much, this is so reassuring.

Can I ask, did any of you have anything prescribed in your successful pregnancy?

Thank you and yes will book a scan as soon as I am able to have one.

I think I’m pregnant again after a miscarriage last cycle. Will the doctors do any more blood tests/scans during this pregnancy( if I am)

TokyoSushi · 09/05/2022 16:36

No nothing at all, in fact, I had a young toddler at the time, so probably didn't take as much care of myself as I should have! All was great, and hopefully it will be for you too OP.

Baby aspirin in case the miscarriage was due to slightly sticky blood.

I conceived on first cycle after my ERPC and now 34 weeks everything has been really positive (touch wood!!) but like you I was a wreck at the start and had 2 bleeds early on which turned out to be implantation bleeds. Nothing prescribed or anything, think it is just luck. Good luck with your pregnancy!! Xxx

Bobduncan · 09/05/2022 19:36

@Regenbogen22 would you mind me asking what baby aspirin does? Is it prescribed?

wonderstuff · 09/05/2022 19:40

I had 2 successful pregnancies after a mmc. I was super anxious throughout my second pregnancy and incredibly sick too which was miserable, but dd arrived 5 days before due date weighing in on 50th percentile via straightforward delivery.

Good luck

Nope, you buy it off the shelf, 75mg tablets. It's often recommended for women who have had miscarriages previously. The theory is that in the very early weeks of implantation and tiny blood vessels forming, any stickiness in the mother's blood could prevent early blood flow to the embryo. Even if there's normally no clotting problem this can change in pregnancy.

The guidelines I believes have changed and now 150mg is recommended, but 75 is also a good starting dose

I had an mmc March 2021 (baby didn't live past 8 weeks, found out on 12 week scan). One year to the day later, I had my son. Fingers crossed for you OP, there is no reason for you to experience another loss. It could happen, but it probably won't.

weegiemum · 09/05/2022 21:25

I had 2 mc then dd1, mc, ds, dd2.

Was nervous in my pregnancies but it didn't take over my life, I was under the MH midwife with ds and dd2 though due to bad pmt with dd1.
