Movements

Hi,

I’m currently 22+5 weeks pregnant and have been feeling movements since 19 weeks. There definitely isn’t a pattern yet but usually I feel at least something every morning and every night.

I haven’t felt anything yet this morning but everything online tells me until 24 weeks it might be inconsistent? I thought about phoning the triage line but I don’t want to call unnecessarily and when I called due to pain a few weeks ago it basically took me the entire day to get through anyway.

Does anyone have any insight into when movements should be consistent? When did you start feeling a lot more?

Mine were on and off until this past week really, when I was 27 weeks. Now I feel him every day, throughout the day, although every so often he has a crazy spell and other times he's more chilled.

They're still so small at 22 weeks and can be in positions where you just don't feel them much. Or they're asleep 😂

I would call tbh. No harm done.

I wouldn't worry as they don't develop a pattern until about 27/28 weeks and they're so small before then they can easily move into a space where you can't feel them. But you can still ring triage to see what they say, they might get you in for a Doppler check for reassurance.

Thanks everyone!

I ended up trying triage again because there was just a little part of me that was too concerned. Heartbeat found super fast and typically started kicking during the exam as well! Feel a bit silly now but it’s just so worrying when you really have no idea what’s going on in there!

Don't feel silly. Always best to get these things checked out. Keep going back if need be, no need to feel anything other than glad the maternity services take it seriously.

Glad everything is ok x
