Hi all 35 weeks today and had know breech presentation since 28 weeks midwife said yesterday unlikely to turn by presentation scan a week today. Question is for all who have had an elective section for breech baby was it booked at that scan how long did you have to wait for them to book it ? Also when did you have it Google telling me 39 weeks but I know it can be different

thanks

Only found out mine was breech at 37+3. Tried to turn it - Ecv - at 38, no deal. Booked then, for 39+2.

Hope it all goes well, sorry that's not particularly helpful!

We discovered my first was breech at 41 weeks. After the scan, I had an appointment with a consultant where we discussed birth options- so it wasn't booked at the scan as that was a sonographer and not a consultant. I imagine its normally around the 39 week mark.

Hey! My baby was discovered to be breech around 28 weeks. I had the scan to confirm at 36weeks and a chat with a consultant who asked me about ECV/c-section options.. I opted for a section so got told I'd receive a text with the date which I got around 37-38 weeks. I had my c-section at 39 weeks which I believe is the norm unless you are high risk then it might be earlier. This was only last year so doubt anything would've changed since. Good luck ❤️

@barneymcgroo @buttercuplizzy Thanks for your replies !
@deathofastrawberry Thanks that is helpful for my presentation scan next Friday at 36 weeks wondering what the norm is from there about c section as nothing as been said to me yet and if still breech which he was yesterday at Doppler scan then I am going straight for c section not fancying vaginal breech birth or ECV.

My 8lb 6oz footling breech turned head down on the morning of the ELCS - the little contrarian!

barneymcgroo · 06/05/2022 20:49

@Beachsidesunset I slightly wished I'd waited a little longer, as recovery from my VBAC with DS2 was so much easier, but was overwhelmed with everything at the time.

@Beachsidesunset I’m 32 weeks been told today fooling breech , did anyone tell you your baby was likely to turn or they just did?

Flowerbug1994 · 19/05/2022 16:37

My son was breech and delivered by planned c section at 39+3. Lovely, easy delivery, healthy, safe baby and I recovered very quickly.

Theworkingmama · 19/05/2022 18:37

@Beachsidesunset @UnalliterativeGeorge im
hoping I have time for her to turn got to have scans 34 and 36 , I’m petrified of having a section have either of you had before?

UnalliterativeGeorge · 19/05/2022 21:47

I had an emergency section the first time due to distressed baby and the second time thanks to a breech baby who refused to turn.

The breech section was a delight compared to the emergency! Even despite being in labour it was so much more relaxed getting in and getting her out. If it comes to it you'll be fine @Theworkingmama just need to remember to take the Paracetamol every four hours and don't think you're fine and try to do without any pain relief
