I bought two cheap blue dye tests from sainsburys. Opened them up as I felt I could see a faint line. What is the verdict are these invalid now I’ve opened?

I don't see the reason for opening them as they are both positive.

Congrats

It was very difficult to see any line in the test package. Only when I removed the package did the lines show clearly which made me wonder. I was about to toss them and say almost sure it wasn’t positive. Then I opened it 😮

I’d be suspicious of a line that only appears when you dismantle it. And of blue dye and thin lines. Can you get a FRER?

Coffeekam · 05/05/2022 20:35

I was thinking I should go and get the test that spells it out instead of interpreting lines. I’m still very early and would prefer not to be pregnant but I would like to know asap if I am. The reason I tested is I had nausea yesterday very badly. I have been pregnant twice before and never had nausea thankfully so it’s not a usual symptom for me but made me test anyway. Although so early on nausea is probably too early for a genuine symptoms.

The digital tests are notoriously less sensitive so may not pick it up if you're very early. You're better off getting the pink dye First Response Early Result tests. They're much more sensitive to lower levels of hcg so should give a more reliable result.

They’re evap lines. Sainsburys do this all the time. Don’t use them again. I had this personally and a frer was negative.

Coffeekam · 05/05/2022 21:27

Ohhh really are you very sure? The lines are blue which is worrying me

Honestly mine looked the exact same.

I took a FRER to check because I was freaking out and it was negative.

Coffeekam · 06/05/2022 07:23

Oh wow, they do look the same. I read reviews on sainsburys website for the same test and they are all similar. I’ll get a frer today

They should be taken off the shelves, it’s despicable. The amount of people ttc and thinking they’re pregnant when they’re not, it’s horrendous.

Coffeekam · 06/05/2022 10:01

It’s negative
