Colostrum....?

Hi

So I found out I was pregnant last week I'm roughly 4/5 weeks. I have a few symptoms which include sore boobs, a bit nauseous at times and a little bit of cramping occasionally. The only thing that's concerning me a bit is I've had a few drops of colostrum already... surely that's too early? I've looked online and it says it doesn't start til 16 weeks.

In terms of my previous pregnancy history, I gave birth to my nearly 2 year old daughter in 2020 at 26 weeks gestation. Then in September 2021 I had an early miscarriage/chemical pregnancy.

So I am quite anxious generally about being pregnancy due to my previous issues but I just don't know if things are right.

Can anyone give me any insights etc please. Thank you x

I'm sorry no one has replied. I've not had this but it's not to say it's a problem. Why does it worry you particularly? Are you worried you're further on than you think?

Hi @bethy95. I'm sorry about your loss. I know what that's like - it makes subsequent early pregnancies so much harder. That said, congratulations! 🎉

As I'm sure you know, our bodies can react to pregnancy in all sorts of wacky ways, but I'm not aware of slightly leaky boobs being a problem, even this early - of course it's always best to get checked out. I think it might be a good idea to make an appointment with your GP to discuss your anxiety. I know it's hard, but it might be a very long 9 months without some support in that area. Be prepared to let your midwife know too, when you have your booking-in appointment. There's so much they can do to help! You can also mention the colostrum production and any other things that are bothering you to the GP, just for peace of mind.

I'm definetly not any further on.. I test very regularly. I just have such a rocky history and I'm just worried things are going to go wrong. I just didn't expect to have any drops of colostrum etc this early as I didn't think it would start to produce yet. Clearblue digital went from 2-3 weeks to 3+ today and gp did blood test last week which came back at 75 so they said I was around 4-5week last week.

I think if no one has answered that means they don't have any experience of this. It is of course totally normal to leak colostrum but generally much later in the pregnancy.

Maybe instead of asking here you could call a medical professional and hopefully find an answer there?

Thank you.... I spoke with my gp when I found out I was pregnant and he did a blood test to confirm it just to ease my anxiety and asked for me to be seen soon by the midwife so my appointment is 19th may.

But I constantly feel like I'm bleeding but check and obviously I'm not or I feel like aches and pains and think the worst.

I do see a counsellor through a neonatal charity due to my daughters history so I've mentioned things to them and they assure me that I'll be monitored a lot etc but I think this first few months where there is very little monitoring and just a wait and see approach is the worst. I have a private scan booked for 16th may so I know I just need to wait. The cheapy pregnancy strip tests are getting darker too and are now just as dark or darker than control line so I know my hcg is rising and my Clearblue digital went to 3+ today.

Sorry for rabbiting on... im just scared I'll have another loss of if I don't have a loss my baby will be born super prem like my daughter was. My journey with my daughter was such an emotional rollercoaster and although she is doing amazing now I know how different it could have been.

Sorry. 😭🙈
