Taking arnica before a C-section - any experiences?

All being well I’ll be having an ELCS to deliver DS two weeks today :)

I’ve been reading up about anything I can do to ease recovery (this is my second birth but the first one was a traumatic instrumental so I have some experience of 4 week+ recovery unfortunately!) and one of the things I’ve come across is taking arnica to reduce bruising and inflammation. Most references seem to talk about using it after birth but I know arnica can be taken preventatively/preemptively to minimise bruising and inflammation in the first place.

I’ll speak to my midwife about it of course before I take/apply anything, but I can’t see any sign that it’s contraindicated in pregnancy and I was wondering if anyone had any experiences?

I also have a lovely seaweed and arnica bubble bath which I might have a few dips with in the next two weeks 😊
