Hi lovely ladies.

I am 4+6 days/5 weeks depending on calculator I use. I had implantation bleeding 6 days ago.
This morning I woke up to blown blood when I wipe.
Not sure if it's to early to in pregnancy to even ring EPU ?
I haven't booked midwife appointment yet if that makes difference?

There’s no harm in calling but I think most EPUs wouldn’t see you at this stage as they can’t scan or anything like that.

I hope things improve for you, remember lots of babies are born after bleeding in pregnancy. 💐

@Christmas6574347 thank you for your reply.😊

I 've just checked on the hospital's website and it says they don't take self referrals unless you have history of miscarriages or ectopic pregnancy :( .
I guess it's just wait and see game :(

I had bleeding at 5 weeks, I was scanned as I was having other symptoms suggesting ectopic pregnancy. Thankfully it wasn't but they noticed that while the pregnancy had started as a twin pregnancy, one sac was not developing so the bleeding was likely from a very early miscarriage of one sac/embryo.

I have since had relatively regular bleeding throughout my pregnancy so think the bleeding is just part of it this time around. I'm 21 weeks now so it doesn't always mean the worst.

Also if it helps, the midwife told me they don't worry if the blood is brown as it's old blood and as your uterus begins to stretch it pushes out old blood left over from implantation etc. I know it's not always the same for everyone but wanted to share my experience as I was convinced of the worst each time.

@salimali28 thank you for taking time to share your experience.😊

I also think that it maybe be an old blood as it's brown. I woke up with cramps so it maybe be stretching of the uterus like you say .🤞

Ring 111. I did when I was in a similar situation and then booked me an appointment at AnE who used a doppler to listen to the baby to check everything was ok

medicmummm · 04/05/2022 08:23

I would get an EPAU referral from you GP just to make sure and for reassurance really.

🤞

Unfortunately it is far too early in your pregnancy for scanning and there's nothing anyone can do to change the outcome at this stage. Fingers crossed for you though.

If it gets worse, contact Gp

Hope you are ok @Pregnantandvworried ?

111 or GP is a good call if you are worried or in pain.
