Stomach aches and nausea

I just need to hear if whatever I feel is normal I suppose.

Im 13+1 and from week 6 to week 11 i had a horrible nausea and stomach aches all the time. I think I threw up on week 6 and after that my stomach has not been right. I didnt throw up again after that regardless of how nauseous i was though, just persistent debilitating stomach aches. I started to feel so depressed i was ready to head to the gp for antidepressants as soon as week 12 hit (if it didnt get better after)

My stomach pains were so bad that I would wake up in the middle of the night in pain I was then prescribed Omeprazole 20mg which worked wonders for about 2-3 weeks. I felt like me again, i could get out of bed and even go outside to a shop and such. With it most of the nausea went too as long as i ate frequently. My scan went well and all looked in order.

2 days ago i felt unwell and really tired, and soon had really bad stomach pain again. I ended up being sick throughout the night and then today same again. Either food comes up or a bit of a stomach acid depending if i ate. I cant sleep, feel so dehydrated and can't eat very much. I feel like my stomach will be upset if i ate just about anything.

My stomach is in constant pain and i start to think i can't manage the next 6 months if it carries on like this... Ive not actually seen anyone struggle this much and it makes me scared that something is wrong or that the baby wont get the nutrients it needs.

Has anyone had something similar, and did it ever get better at all? 😖😖 😖

Sorry to hear you’re in pain. I haven’t experienced this but I think you need to push the gp for further examination or referral as I don’t think it’s right to be in so much pain. I’ve taken omeprazole for stomach acid before and I seem to recall them saying it took a couple of weeks to kick in properly. But if it’s acid related things should be getting better not worse. Hope you feel better.

Pregnancy is really hard for a lot of people. Metallic mouth taste, oversensitive smells, nausea, disturbed sleep, fatigue, constant heartburn, painful round muscles being stretched, and all those hormones playing havoc with your mind and body and more are really normal.

If you feel your nausea and vomiting is extreme though and meaning you can't keep water down, then contact your gp to be reviewed.

Hopefully your symptoms of nausea largely stop soon 🤞

Just wanted to put it out there that i have finally, as about week 18, started to feel like a human being again. My medication was doubled until the worst parts have passed and i am slowly coming off it now. I can even go for a walk now, yay!
