Headaches

I’m 20+5 with baby number 2, a little girl💗I didn’t have headaches that often with my first but if I did they wasn’t bad and went away with a paracetamol.

The headaches have been on and off for the past couple days, paracetamol only just touches it but it’s like a pressure headache, my head pounds and it knocks me back when I get it which isn’t great as I’m struggling to be a mummy to my 2 year old little boy💙The only times I’ve felt like this is when I’ve been in the doctors or hospital and knew my blood pressure was low and the last time was 3 weeks ago, but they’ve definitely picked up in the last week..

When I get them they last for a while at a time, and it makes me dizzy, it feels like I've been bashed around the head with a brick..

What can I do too ease them as they’re really having an effect on my day too day life? thank you in advance X

Call midwife or doctor as could be anaemia or pre eclampsia. Headaches in pregnancy are common but not always just normal preg symptoms so best to get checked out! Hope you get it sorted xx

@miltonj my midwife is only in clinic every 2 weeks but I don't have her number, only people available too ring is Labour ward as I'm past 20 weeks or 111 right now, would these be able too help?❤️Thank you for your response x

annalisesmithx · 03/05/2022 18:30

I went to gp who diagnosed. I had awful pain in head, sensitivity to light, felt exhausted and nauseous. I'd not had migraines since I was a child. Reading above post re pre eclampsia etc I would perhaps ring labour beard explain how your feeling let them decide if you need to be seen then if no further ring gp.

@Autienotnaughtie thank you for this! That helps a lot, I'm not feeling nauseous I'm just being sick in the morning but had mild hg with my first child so that's not a surprise for me. I'll give them a ring and see what they decide, thank you xx

You could do. But I would call your GP surgery in the morning. If it's usually hard to get an appointment at your GP or you have to wait weeks, ask for the on call dr to give you a call. Don't down play it, it could be important.

You need medical advice. Nobody can diagnose online. Call 111. You need to see a midwife or a doctor and be examined properly, including a BP and urine check. You may need your eyes checked by an optician too.

annalisesmithx · 03/05/2022 19:34

@endofthelinefinally I agree I definitely need too ring, I was looking mainly for advice on other peoples experiences❤️Thank you for your response xx
