Hi everyone,
I think I'm having a miscarriage but doctor yet to confirm. My HCG was level 5 at 5 weeks. Is this normal? Everywhere I'm looking says. Doctor thinks miscarriage but is doing follow up tests.

If it's 5 at 5 weeks then that is very low, I believe they count 5 and under as not pregnant. That's if the "5" is in the normal units of measurement....you mentioned "level"...

Jenni1991 · 03/05/2022 11:13

Not sure term to use but doctor said I was borderline 5 HCG I think in normal units?

Regenbogen22 · 03/05/2022 11:16

These are the normal ranges. So 5 would be not pregnant, unfortunately 😥

LOW HCG

Thank you @Regenbogen22 Why would my doctor be getting me to retest?

Jenni1991 · 03/05/2022 11:24

I've also had no bleeding?

Jenni1991 · 03/05/2022 11:24

Well some bleeding by only spotting

Regenbogen22 · 03/05/2022 11:29

With HCG what's important is that the level doubles every 2 days, so that's why they test again. Regarding bleeding, sometimes it can take a little while for that to start, after HCG levels have fallen. The spotting might be the start of that.

Thanks for your speedy replies @Regenbogen22 I'm going with miscarriage but it's all the up and down that has taken a toll

Regenbogen22 · 03/05/2022 11:33

Yeah, the not knowing is always terrible, and everyone has different outcomes. Take care of yourself and hopefully try again!

HCG CONCERNS

Hi everyone. Im a little concerned. Ever since finding out i am pregnant on April 18th...its been a whirlwind. A little background. No children, 2 previous ectopics on my right....didnt think natural would be possible. Went to emergency on april 18th due to abdominal cramping...i have to be careful as i have gallstones and have been awaiting surgery since the beginning of covid. They ran multiple tests including bloodwork. BAM! my HCG was 390. my LMP was march 16th. i had an ultrasound on April 19th, which showed nothing in my tubes or uterus at that point. I went back the following Monday April 25th where more bloodwork was taken. My HCG came back at 3954. Ultrasound on April 26; showed a sac but no yolk measuring 4-4.5wks. As previous ER visit requested repeat bloodwork on this wednesday April 27...this was what's concerning... results were 3122. My family dr called and requested repeat bloodwork on April 28th. My HCG came back as 4018. My family dr was able to get my into an OBGYN immediately to be followed. She isn't overly concerned; but to me i was anxiety ridden. She is requesting that monday i repeat my bloodwork, as well as an ultrasound in 2 weeks. She doesn't want to have me stressing over numbers so she would like to wait a few days. Knowing there is a sac in my uterus and its not ectopic; she also put me on progesterone. I had my hcg bloodwork retaken on may 2 it came back at 6450. Also had it taken again today. Waiting on the results. I still have breast tenderness, spouts of nausea, constipation and mild bloating. I have no bleeding and only mild cramping here and there. She was honest and told me to be cautiously optimistic. If viable its just too early to tell, same goes for a blighted ovum. Can anyone offer their thoughts or advice? Im a stress ball internally but remaining calm as best as possible. Me and my husband are so ready for this to happen.

Sorry. New to this. Totally didn’t mean to hijack your thread. I’ve now created my own correctly. My apologies

Jenni1991 · 05/05/2022 08:11

Hi lovely,
We'll I can't give much advice but my LMP was March 17th and my HCG was just 5 the other day. The reason why I'm saying this is to hopefully give you some positivity.
Please let me know how you go.

BarbadosLove87 · 05/05/2022 18:43

I’m sorry to hear you’re potentially miscarrying. This has been so stressful. My blood keeps slowly rising but I’m assuming it’s 50/50 for me still. The being in limbo is the hardest part

Jenni1991 · 05/05/2022 21:56

Sending positivity. Keep me posted.
