37w twinges?

Hi all! I'm trying to pin down how to describe these twinges I've been getting for a week or so (I've just turned 37w). I know baby's head was 3/5 engaged a few weeks back, and the only way I can describe it is that it feels like a twinge caused by baby turning their head? It really makes me stop and go 'ooh!' When it happens. Could that be what it is, or something else? In my last pregnancy I never got Braxton Hicks etc and all my contractions felt like back pain around my kidneys, if that makes sense (like really intense period pain). I'm just trying to be on the ball because I went into labour 10 days early last time, with back pain a week before that which I thought was a kidney infection (!), but which in hindsight was early contractions. Thanks for any hints!

Sounds possible. With my DS 2 I was expecting him to be late, as DS1 had been, so when I felt what I described as him 'headbutting my cervix' I didn't think anything of it, but he was born a few short hours after that...

I could have written this myself. Had some period like cramps and burning back pains last night, also felt like her head was very lowdown and engaged all through the night, but woke up fine this morning. I’m 37+3, but had my first at 34weeks by EMCS when my waters broke spontaneously, so never got a contraction or anything else to go by.

Might be latent labour, based on my readings last night, might be nothing. Who knows! Fingers crossed things get moving for you.
