20 week scan- rescan

Had 20 week scan last week and everything looked good except baby was in awkward position for heart and face views- so been booked a rescan which I actually don't mind.

But out of curiosity what happens if they still don't get the views they need?? I've seen other forums of those going for rescans but not seen what happens if baby still awkward lol

Also do they re-do babies measurements? Like the Head circumference and femur length etc

I had weekly scans from 20 weeks through to 25 weeks planned anyway (due to a previous loss) but they couldn't get everything at the 20 week and each time they just got a bit more of what they needed until they had everything, I think they had it all in a couple.

I had growth done every 2 weeks but I do think it depends on the sonographer too, I remember one telling me she was determined that get it all and had me moving every way possible and another who didn't bother at all.

Re measurements: yes they do all the measurements they can along with certain indicators they want to see for each scan. Femur length was one they always do for us. I had an extra scan just last week at 36wks and they did femur length etc. they couldn't do head circ as baby's head is already engaged and they can't see through the pelvis when scanning.
