Monitoring Blood Sugar for Gestational Diabetes

I am 30wks & currently testing my blood sugar for 2 weeks in case I have GD.
I had a 28 week growth scan as so far they've been worried the baby was too small. After the scan the sonographer said the baby was a bit bigger than expected so referred me to the GD clinic.

So far I've had 2 higher readings- 8.1 and 8- they should be 7.8 or below. One was last week after having leftover pizza for lunch and the other this morning as we had blueberry pancakes.

We were told to carry on with normal for food over these two weeks and call the hospital if you had 3 or more high readings.

I was just wondering what they would say about the 2 high readings if I don't have any more. Do they indicate GD, or just bad food choices. We eat pretty well, mostly vegetarian food so I've never been overly concerned about my diet. All other readings are well within range.
I'm just trying to prepare myself for the outcome really.
Thanks!

Hi I'm currently monitoring my bloods for GD, stuck to normal diet, had three highs of readings in the low 8s. Removed these meals from my diet and told the consultant. He wasn't at all bothered and just asked me to keep monitoring. All my readings since have been 6.5 and below so all seems good.

I scored 7.8 in the GD test so there was a bit of debate as to whether I needed to monitor (I eat a very low sugar diet anyway and they think the sugar drink was a bit of a shock to my system) but just to be safe I'm stuck doing it until my planned section.

Started monitoring at 33 weeks, planned section at 39 weeks, baby estimated 10-11lbs....

I had GD but it was controlled by diet alone. Fruit was one of the worst things for me. But it was usually in the 8's never over that really.

They predicted that my DD would be 10-11lb. She was 7lb8oz!

@Sniffypete I'm so hoping our estimates are off too! A little smaller would be better for my section as she's transverse in a really awkward place. The Doctor was counting her neck rolls visible on the scan and laughing last week so not holding out much hope 😄

Thanks! We've got another scan on Monday, so will see how that goes.
Fruit doesn't seem to affect anything, it's purely been the pizza and pancakes so far, which we very rarely eat anyway.
