I’m almost 18 weeks and keep getting bead aches every day! Found out my iron is low and most likely the cause. Paracetamol doesn’t help what else can I safely take?

The only thing that helped me was cold, wet wash clothes on my forehead. No recommendations for medication, sorry.

@TheGirlWithTheGreyBunny I suffer with headaches and when I spoke to the doctor's as paracetamol wasn't working they advised to take ibuprofen instead, I only took one dose and it took it off. I think ibuprofen says it's ok to take if you speak with a doctor though and also I used the migraine cool soothe patches on my forehead they are brill. I spoke to midwife and pharmacist but both said basically I had to speak to a doctor first.

It's awful, isn't it? I have migraines and all I could really take was paracetamol (useless) and 4Head. I think tramadol is allowed, but circumstances have to be extreme.

Co-codamol is stronger so may help more as it has codeine in and is fine in pregnancy but is avoided during labor

You should avoid ibuprofen unless you have checked with your doctor the benefit outweighs the risk and avoid completely in 3rd trimester

I found acupuncture really helpful, despite being very sceptical. Not all practitioners will work on pregnant women though.

I've found the cool and soothe migraine strips really good, I was skeptical about them but I would of tried anything and they actually worked

In 17 weeks & had bad headaches. MASSIVELY upping my water intake has helped them.
