Brown Discharge at 14 weeks

Upon wiping after a pee early there was some light brown spotting on the toilet paper and now I'm super anxious. I'm just under 15 weeks pregnant.

The Tommy's charity website said that spotting is rare beyond first trimester which is really getting me worked up. Other websites seem to suggest otherwise. There's nothing on my underwear. I am cramping but have had cramps for a while.

I know the answer will be to phone midwife in morning but I'm looking reassurance.

Can be normal. I’ve had spotting throughout the second trimester (and the first) with no cause found. Sometimes it can just be a bit of old blood coming away, or it could just be from irritation in the vagina or around the cervix as it’s very sensitive during pregnancy. Always best to get checked though if you’re worried x

@Moonshine160 thanks, Dr Google just makes everything worse. I just haven't experienced it. All the best for a healthy pregnancy for us both!

I agree with moonshine it can be old blood coming away. Has anyone ever mentioned anything about a pool of blood above the sac at your scans? I am currently pregnant with my second and had a small pool of blood above the sac which was detected at an early scan and I was told it would either absorb or come away. Between 12 and 14 weeks I had some brown bleeding (quite heavy at times) and when I had this checked they couldn't see a cause. Now 24 weeks and baby is still doing perfectly.
Always worth getting checked out though!

It[ll be old blood or a heamatome that has been reasorbing. Happened to me and my DSis.

Try not to worry (impossible, I know)
