28 weeks - what’s going on?

Evening,

Any ideas what might be wrong with me? I’ve been having minor to moderate period cramps since Monday. Been taking paracetamol and it’s been reducing but not going away. Finally called the labour ward yesterday morning and they had me straight in. Baby all fine under monitoring, cervix closed, no protein in urine etc. swab taken for infection but results won’t be back for two days.

I thought it was Braxton Hicks (but apparently that’s more painless tightening rather than feeling like my period is about to start). I’ve also had some moderate constant back pain.

I’ve got a midwife appointment in the morning to check again but anyone else had anything similar? Is this very early labour? Hospital not quite sure what is going on / it’s definitely not pelvic girdle pain etc. any ideas??

Don’t know sorry but great all tests have come back clear so far!! Around 28 weeks I started having lower back pain and pelvic pain if I overdid things or spent too long sitting! I think everything loosens up and you can get all sorts of aches and pains…..fingers crossed it all goes well!

Thanks both. Had my 28 week check today anyway - been put on bed rest and told to dial into triage if pain gets any worse (had some severe cervix pain in the night). They think its a UTI but not showing on dip so been sent off to lab. Baby perfectly happy this morning so all good from that point.

Bodies are weird 😂

I had this at 32 weeks and it was thrush! I didn’t even feel like I had thrush at all. I got a pessarys and it stopped within a few hours

Thanks. I think this is probably what it was. Pains have reduced significantly since pessary. Very odd because I literally had no symptoms of thrush!
