Following on from the 'I'm crap at being pregnant thread' can we remind ourselves the plus sides (not sizes) of being pregnant so we may actually do it again one day?!

My best bits have to be;

*Being able to pinch one of only 4 seats at the in-laws over christmas because no-one would dream of making me stand.
*Eating whatever the hell I want for breakfast/lunch/dinner/supper/when I wake up at 3am and can't sleep
*Never having to get out of my pj's until I actually need to leave the hosue

There's a baby coming.

(sorry!)

oh I LOVED both my pregnancies, even when Iwas at the huge, ball like stage. People are invariably kind and considerate, it just feels special (well it did to me anyway).

I feel healthier. Natural steriods kick in and actually seemed to get rid of my rheumatoid arthritis-type illness.

I loved pregnancy.

And knowing you're doing the most important thing in the world--bringing a new human being into it!

  • the guiltless food. But funnily ennough I tend to be healthier when pregnant.
-the hormones making me all chilled and giggly
  • the increased sex drive
  • being able to nap (can never relax enough when not pg)

Also love pregnancy. If only SPD did not hurt so much

I loved being pregnant (despite it being a difficult pregnancy physically). Sounds wierd but I really 'grieved' for my bump once dd was born.

No mood swings
No PMT
No AF
Dh making me sandwiches in the middle of the night because I was so hungry all the time
Glossy hair (it fell out later!!)
Rabid nesting instinct
Generally feeling special

Countingthegreyhairs · 10/01/2008 12:57

Oh and

feeling and seeing dd's tiny feet kicking me from inside.
Some rather pleasant, "interesting" dreams
Being able to say 'no' to things you don't want to do and have a legitimate excuse
Being able to sleep loads (1st pregnancy!)

I had great skin for the first time since I was 13

and I had a genuine reason to buy new clothes

deaconblue · 10/01/2008 13:13

every time baby kicks it feels like you've got a secret little friend communicating with you.
My trousers all fit!!

ladytophamhatt · 10/01/2008 13:17

just the specialness of it all.

being pg with Ds4 was the hardest of all and I really didn't enjoy it but its such a wonderful and amazing thing...We're actaully making a brand new person, thats got to the the best thing

pud1 · 10/01/2008 13:41

leaving work ( today for me) with a lovely bunch of flowers, mothercare vouchers, a book containing peoms about babies that can make you cry and lots of cards.

Brangelina · 10/01/2008 13:48

I was also bursting with health and had lovely skin and shiny hair.
Being able to jump the queue at supermarkets (there's a special disabled and pg till at the one I go to).
Not having to hold my tummy in for 9 months.
Having somewhere to rest your hands when sitting down.
Feeling generally beatific and indulgent towards others.
