Any tips for making baby move before a scan?

Going back for a 4D rescan on Sunday. Tried last week and baby was breech and curled up tight in a ball. I’ll be 31 weeks at the rescan.

My pregnancies have never progressed this far and I really want to get some good photos.

The sonographer recommended an evening appointment which we are doing, in case she is more active at this time.

Baby doesn’t respond to fizzy drinks or lucozade! Any other tips welcomed.

Chocolate was recommended by the NHS sonographer when my baby didn’t cooperate. Had to go off for a walk and eat chocolate. Did the trick.

Very cold fresh orange juice and a brisk walk

Yes. A walk and something sugary. Time the sugar well so it hasn't passed into sugar crash territory by the time of the scan. Stairs help as well as jostling movements. If you're really desperate you could even try some star jumps.

A substantial meal and walk about

Spend some time on all fours to get baby moving around

Tothepoint99 · 28/04/2022 01:23

Cold water
Ice cream
Jump up and down
Lie on your side just before gel goes on and rock your top hip forward and back

All things that have worked or sonographer has told me to do.

I was advised to get down on all fours to get baby to move from breech position. I took to sweeping the living room with a dustpan and brush.
She did turn! No idea if the all fours did it though!

Eat sugary sweet biscuits, lie on your left side.

When I had my 20 week anomaly scan, the sonographer got me to do some star jumps to try and get baby to change position so they could see everything. I can't remember if it worked though 😂

I think Spinning babies recommend all fours and/or hips raised for breech babies but that's might be at a later gestation.

Icy water, star jumps, sugar.
