Panicking - 10wks

Hi ladies, I've got myself in a right panic. I noticed yesterday I was having a little brown discolouration when wiping etc, and a little bit of abdominal pain.
Today I felt fine-ish so went for a stroll but came back early as my back was really hurting and when I went to the loo, I noticed quite dark brown - almost as if it were the end of a period.
I'm lying here with my back twingeing and my stomach slightly crampy and I'm absolutely petrified.
I'm 10 weeks and to be honest I've noticed a reduction in symptoms the past few days and so now I'm full on panicking... my doc told me just to wait it out 😢

Can anyone offer any advice?

I have bled with two of my babies. Both were ok. Things like cervical erosion (sounds more dramatic than it is) or subchorionic hematomas (a small bleed in the womb) can cause it. Many times, no one can say where the bleeding is coming from.

I am 8 weeks pregnant now, and had the same as you today - a
bloody discharge after being active. But I heard the baby’s heartbeat with my Doppler, so I’m not too worried.

Could you arrange for a private scan? This may help easy your mind.

Not sure if it'll be much help.

I'm 4 weeks according to my app. I have had some twinges back and front and put it down to everything stretching.

I had the tiniest amount of light pink discharge followed by the next day brown discharge when I wiped. Brown is a sign of old blood so not always something to worry about.

I know we all worry! When I saw mine I thought oh no. They were both on singular wipes.

I hope for us both it's alright.

With my DS when I was pregnant with him at 10 weeks I had bright red blood and panicked and booked a private scan. They didn't know what caused it but said bleeding in pregnancy is more common than we think. They don't know why it happened.

xx

Also to add I had no symptoms with my DS or this baby xx

I had the same after horse riding in the early weeks of pregnancy. All was totally fine. Brown blood is much less concerning than red. Odds are everything is fine though I know it must be nerve wracking !
The fact is, something could be wrong with no sign of it, and everything could be fine while bleeding heavily, so paying too much attention to symptoms is a mindfuck. Hopefully you'll feel more at ease after your 12-wk scan.

Forgot to add I had zero symptoms in either pregnancy and symptoms are known to ease as the first trimester ends anyway so I don't think your symptoms going away means anything at all.

Can you make an appointment at an early pregnancy unit? They can scan you and see what’s going on?

MulberryBush700 · 27/04/2022 15:28

Can you afford an early private scan? I managed to book one within 24 hours when I had similar issues to you at 9w, I just had to know what was happening and absolutely didn't have the strength and patience to wait for my 12 weeks scan. It was £45 a couple of years ago - I think...

Hope all goes well for you.

EPU won't see me as its not red blood, they said to rest for 48hrs... I had a scan before privately at 7 weeks where they said I was only 6+ but there was a heartbeat so I took that as a good sign?

I had brown blood and cramping at about 5 weeks for around 10 days. The baby is now four months and is sitting breastfeeding right now. The doctor at the time told me it could go either way and signed me off. My mum also said that putting your feet up helps. No idea if that old wives' tale is true or not, but my pregnancy continued after I did that.

Hope all goes well, OP.
