Hi.
I’ve had 2 miscarriages and and ectopic over the years so this new pregnancy my midwife ordered early scans.
By my LMP dates I would have been 4 weeks 6 day’s at the scan.
The scan didn’t show much but the sonographer said there wouldn’t be much to see and she was happy that the pregnancy was growing in the correct place.
I was relieved and booked in for another scan 2 weeks later to check the progress.
Anyway today my midwife called, she expected me to be worried about the scan results, I wasn’t sure what she meant but she’s put my mind in a spin.
I’ve just had bloods done so will get results tomorrow to confirm my hcg is rising.

I’m so tempted to do another digital test just to make sure all is ok but I think I might drive myself crazy.

Anyone have scan pics before 5 week’s?
Is this what I’d expect to see.

Just after some reassurance. 💛

Wow that's so early, I'm not a professional but I'm surprised they can see anything at all!
I wouldn't worry about what the midwife said - sounds like she's just had to reassure people before that it's too early to see much and was trying to pre-empt it!

Wow that's super early. I had emergency scan at 5+5 due to bleeding and even then they couldn't tell me anything. Had to go back after a week or two.

I think it’s a really good sign they even found the sac at this gestation. All looks on track.

I would be very pleased if I had a scan and saw this so early on.

Rtmhwales · 27/04/2022 02:59

Did she perhaps mean worried in general because of the miscarriage history? I'm on 3 MCs and I feel like I'd be worried naturally even if everything looked perfect.

You can't really tell anything this early anyway other than it being in the right place. Wishing all the best for you.

@Supersnot123 Thank you. I’m kind of wishing I didn’t go so early but the midwife ordered them so I went, I was told when booking on the phone I wouldn’t see much. I have another booked in 4 day’s by then i will be 6+4.

I’m think now that I’ve calmed myself down that she thought I would be worried but from what the sonographer said I wasn’t at all concerned.

@Snowflakes1122 It’s super early and I knew there wouldn’t be much too see, my midwife just put the fear into me when she said she was surprised I wasn’t worried. When I said to her it’s super early she replied “yeah that could be it “ like there could be something else wrong. Maybe I’m just reading too much into it.

The scan looks fine to me - very similar to mine at 5+1 (and that all turned out well).

Beaubaby · 27/04/2022 03:15

@Rtmhwales Thank you. I have all my fingers crossed but also prepared for the worst.

I think now that I have calmed down she might have ment that she was surprised I didn’t call her in a panic because I didn’t see anything.
The sonographer reassured me that all looked okay and to come back in 2 weeks and hopefully sees little baby. So I relaxed.
But now I’m a mess again.

@melcalfe I know. Kind of wishing I’d waited. I have no reason to think anything is wrong.
Just fingers crossed for Monday.

@Dinosaurus86 Thats so good to hear.
I’m sure google shows all the unrealistic scan pics and you never know if they are correct or not.

I will relax now.

my midwife just put the fear into me when she said she was surprised I wasn’t worried.

So weird for her to say that. When I called my OB to make an app after a bleed, she said 'oh we thought you'd be calling with bad news'.
Hmm
Do you have anything to distract yourself with ? Binging on Netflix helps. I watched mins numbers real housewife's of Beverly Hills Grin

Beaubaby · 27/04/2022 06:26

@melcalfe i think now she didn’t mean to scare me. She was just surprised I hadn’t called her.
I’ve been trying to play this pregnancy cool and trying not to stress over every little thing.

I’m so nauseous, my boobs are sore and I feel exhausted , I’m taking these as positives that all is okay.
