I have two children age 5 and 3 from a previous relationship. I didn’t date for about 2.5 years as my kids were so little and I was in my own so I didn’t have the energy or the time! I have been with my new partner just over 6 months and I just found out that I’m pregnant. We were very careful so it is a huge shock. I am really struggling with what to do.I feel like it is way too soon especially since I already have two kids. I’m just looking for some advice or if anyone has been through something similar.

Hi OP, how bizarre as I feel like your story is exactly like mine.

I have one daughter who will be 12 this summer with my ex husband who I separated from in early 2021. I met my current partner in April 2021 and in January after being together for only 9 months I found out that I was pregnant, I got caught between switching contraceptive pills.

We didn't plan on having any children, I had worked with him for a couple of years so we know eachother very well prior to getting into a relationship so we openly had the conversation about children so as you can imagine the shock took a while to subside. We toyed with the idea of terminating but I strongly believe that everything happens for a reason and given that we are in a position to provide a child with a loving home and stable financially we decided to progress with the pregnancy.

I am now 20 weeks, my daughter is absolutely over the moon that she is going to be a big sister and we are excited for our future as a family of 4.

Of course everyone's situation is different but I would say to be sure of the decision that you make and if termination is something that you are considering that it isn't something you will regret further down the line.
