Statutory maternity pay UK

started my maternity leave on the 1st April and baby is due on May 25th - meaning I have had quite abit of time off before the babies arrival, I just assumed that my first maternity payment would be received on my normal monthly pay day (usually around 28th) which is in a couple of days but as it draws closer I’m now panicking that it won’t be paid like that and that I should have asked more questions whilst I was in work - can anyone shed any light on how they get theirs paid and when they got their first payment etc - any advice would be great Thankyou!

Yes should be paid on normal pay day for you, mine was, have you had your payslip yet? That shows all detail of deductions and SMP etc

Hi - ah that’s good to hear Thankyou! I don’t usually get my payslip until after I get paid for some reason 🤣
