Period sex= pregnant

I had unprotected sex on my period with DH 9 days ago, because I stupidly assumed you can’t get pregnant then. Now I’m starting to feel pregnant again, and my cat is in love with sitting on my lap, which she has only EVER done during my pregnancies…😯 Has anyone here got pregnant on their period?

You can get pregnant any time you have unprotected sex.

Loocieloox · 23/04/2022 20:20

Yeah I know that, just assumed it was such a low chance. I wouldn’t mind! Just wanted to know if anyone else has

Wasn’t it terribly messy?

kitty1993 · 23/04/2022 22:40

So you're not actually sure if you're pregnant? You just feel different?

Alightjacket · 23/04/2022 22:57

When did you ovulate? Technically sperm can survive for 6-7 days, it happens but not too often.

Bellesjp · 23/04/2022 23:05

Unlikely unless you ovulated whilst you were on your period?

This!!!

You can get pregnant any time you have unprotected sex.

This isn’t technically true…

ImprobablePuffin · 23/04/2022 23:29

Are you actually pregnant though? A cat sitting on your lap isn’t really a reliable test.

Seriously? I have quite heavy bleeds but it still isn't "terribly messy." That makes it sound like a horror film with fountains of blood spurting everywhere.

gogohm · 23/04/2022 23:35

I hit pregnant on my period, and no it's not messy, they are very light these days and even before it was light by day 4

TheWayoftheLeaf · 23/04/2022 23:37

Just take a pregnancy test obviously

HappilyHadesBound · 23/04/2022 23:45

CatBatFrogChicken · 23/04/2022 22:12

What's that got to do with her question?

People are entitled to still have sex despite being on their period if that's what they want to do!

Furrbabymama87 · 24/04/2022 00:11

Unlikely.

Not one the midwives have started using yet 😂

Loocieloox · 24/04/2022 01:35

Wow a lot of judgement here sheesh. I don’t know if I have gotten pregnant, I am stating that I feel symptoms very similar to what I did in my last pregnancies. Animals can pick up on pregnancy, which is why I included that and in my three previous pregnancies the thing that prompted me to test was my cat being extra loving to me/ my stomach. Period sex is messy but idk why people are judging me for that? Sex involves lots of bodily fluid anyway 🤔

Wallywobbles · 24/04/2022 02:42

Both my kids were conceived during my period.

ZealAndArdour · 24/04/2022 02:47

Ignore them OP, sex on your period is totally fine, orgasms can help with cramping too. Sex is messy sometimes. The wide eyed questions are very naive and tiresome.

You will need to do a pregnancy test to confirm, though.

SallyMcNally · 24/04/2022 03:09

It's just a little bit of blood. It's not like slaughtering a pig. Just throw a towel down and wash up after.

Did remind me of this clip

Back to the op! Getting pregnant whilst on your period is unlikely but possible. It's more likely if you have short cycles and it was towards the end.

This is why those contraception tracker apps only have a very slightly better success rate than the good old pull out method.

The only way to know is to waits a few days and test. I hope you get the result you are looking for Flowers

MamaFoxToBe · 30/04/2022 12:06

Have you done a pregnancy test yet @loocie

Snowflakes1122 · 30/04/2022 12:12

Only 9 days have passed since this happened, so at most you would be 9DPO. We’re you nearing the end of your period? Assuming you ovulate easily in your cycle, it is possible.

Don’t listen to the judgement about Alex on your period. Asking ‘how’ is intrusive and unnecessary.
