One or two prams?

At 27w we are starting to think about buying a pram but as first time parents (and not having any close friends with babies) we are pretty clueless.

I won't be driving so during the week I'd be wanting something that is portable and easy to get around with including on public transport occasionally (although most places are walking distance) and into cafes but with enough space for shopping etc. Also not too wide as we will be moving to an area with very narrow sidewalks and a Victorian terrace that has a narrow doorway.

For weekends we like to go for walks in the countryside or National Trust type places where something more sturdy might be better. An option that's suitable for overnight sleeping while travelling would also be great as we tend to travel a lot (although likely much less after the baby is born).

Do we buy one pram that is a compromise between these requirements or two with one kept in the car for weekend outings and a smaller one kept in the house for day to day use? Money is not a huge problem although we don't want to waste it on things we don't need either. Any suggestions on what to go for?

Get a good sling to start with. One where the baby faces you. Then when you've settled into life with a baby you'll know what will work.

I'd look at the Uppababy Cruse, I think it ticks most of your boxes.

I think what's very important is that whatever you get has a fully flat bassinet and not just "kind of lie flat" seat.
We're also starting to look for one, we live in a big city and don't have a car so will need to be an all rounder and stand up to daily use and many walked miles!!

I have an iCandy peach and it does for pretty much everything. When DC was about to turn two we bought a lighter fold up one to take on holiday, but we wouldn’t have needed it otherwise.
