Self insemination - worried

ParrotFeey · 23/04/2022 10:31

I’m pregnant following self insemination at home with DP for his personal reasons. I’m now worried the syringe from the website damaged the sperm or something. I don’t know really, just scared. I have the odd stomach cramp and always think it’s that something isn’t right.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

The damaged sperm wouldn't have made it to the egg. Don't worry.
And mild cramping is normal in early pregnancy. How many weeks are you?

OtiMama · 23/04/2022 14:05

Cramping is totally normal. I'm no expert but I would be surprised if a damaged sperm would result in pregnancy, so doubt it is that.

Congratulations! Sperm is so so much tinier than the syringe, you won't have damaged them!

Hp345 · 07/05/2022 19:32

Congratulations! That's amazing news and try not to worry, the damaged sperm wont have made it to the egg.
I am currently on cycle 5 of home insemination but literally everything leaks out straight away which is really disheartening. Am I doing something wrong?

@Hp345 I just lay on my back with bum propped up, legs in the air as you do 😅Inserted the 5ml syringe, plunged slowly, had an orgasm, slipped in a softcup and lay there for a bit.

But I mean, that was probably all overkill - think about the woman being on top during sex....conception also occurs even if gravity is against it!

@Hp345 if you want to discuss further just post on your thread on the Conception board, it's better suited there!
