32 weeks pregnant with my first baby. House purchase has fallen through at the last minute so my partner and I will be moving back in with my parents while we start the hunt again. Tell me it will be ok?! We all get on fine but I'm worried about not having our own space to bond with our newborn and figure out parenthood together. Any tips or words of advice???

It will be ok! And it’s not forever. You may even find them a great source of support and wisdom - just try not to get too irritated by all the unwanted advice. Yes, they know what they’re talking about, so try to listen, but you also have to learn from your own experiences.
Just think, when you’re too tired to cook, clean or do laundry, you’ll have your parents there to help. When you haven’t slept all night, they can look after the baby for a while. Sounds great to me!

We did this for the first three months when DD was born and throughout my pregnancy, as we had been saving for a house and then went back to renting. I'd lay down the ground rules now, because it was my mum's house loads of her friends popped round as well as family in the first couple of weeks to see the baby, didn't feel I could say no as it was my Mum's house. It really pissed DH off as we were tired and needed that time to be quieter, particularly with establishing feeding, dealing with hormones, lack of sleep and being first time parents. I get on amazingly with my Mum and Dad, but happy to be in my own space this time.

Sorry meant to add, it did have its benefits, when DH went back to work and I just wanted a quick shower my Dad was wfh and would walk around with DD so I could freshen up, and my mum was about for support after work :)

It’ll be fine! We will be moving in with my parents in a few months with a newborn and 2yo. I’m quite looking forward to it, extra two pairs of hands to help!
