PUPPP OR PG

on top of having pelvic girdle pain I've not developed PUPPP.

Midwife gave me calamine lotion that didn't help so I spoke to the doctor today and he's given me mild steroid cream. Any fellow sufferers found this helpful?
He also said it sounds like PG which is slightly concerning.

My rash isn't actually itchy either. It's more a burning, stinging, insect biting type sensation. It started on my stomach but has now spread to my back and my legs.

Anyone else for this!

Oh and also this is my second pregnancy and I'm having a girl. So, I'm slightly confused as it says PUPPP usually only happens with your first

Anyone had this?

I think I may have this! Only found it on google today. Sometimes mine itches and other times it stings like you’ve described! So annoying. Hope the steroid cream works for you! Have tried to attach a photo to show you what mine look like! Do yours look similar?

@BabyBorn is this your first?

Mine is a bit more red and the spots are bigger but sounds like it could be the same thing. Steroid cream isn't really doing a lot tbh Blush

Hi @baby2due no, this is my third baby. I have never had anything like this before. I’m seeing my midwife on the 3rd of May so hoping to get something confirmed then.
mice read you can use camomile lotion too but add moisturiser to it as it tends to dry the skin out a bit x

BabyBorn · 22/04/2022 13:27

I’ve not mice! 🥴

baby2due · 22/04/2022 19:41

@BabyBorn

I will try that.

This is what mine looks like at the moment

Looks quite blustery. This is on my stomach but I have some on my back and the top of my leg and looks like there's one coming up in my armpit Blush

Aawwww what a nuisance. How long have you had it? Mine look like smaller versions of yours! I only have it in my stomach at the moment. Mine started appearing a few weeks ago x

I had puppp in my first pregnancy, it was bloody agony. The only thing that offered me any relief was cold showers and washing with pine tar soap. This was pre covid when wfh- wasn't a thing- if it was now I would have just worked naked from home as wearing clothes made the itchiness so much worse

cardboardbox24 · 22/04/2022 19:56

Oh yes and I just remembered, I cleared out Boots stock of Calamine cream (not lotion). That stuff is bloody amazing. I think it was Calamine and glycerine or something like that? Just Calamine would be very drying.

baby2due · 22/04/2022 22:20

@BabyBorn - mine started about 2 weeks ago. Have you been to the doctors or anything about yours yet?

@cardboardbox24 Thanks for your reply. I actually got some pine tar soap delivered today as I read it was meant to help. I haven't used it yet. It absolutely stinks!! But I'll give anything a try for some relief.

I'll have a look for the calamine cream you mentioned as well

How are you all getting on? Found anything to improve symptoms?

I have puppp and it's so sore, my whole torso is pretty covered in itchy stinging patches 😢 I can't even sit down comfortably!

Picture here, mine looks more patchy than spotty maybe it is something else 🤷🏼‍♀️

Mild steriod cream from GP helped a bit but was only allowed it for seven days 😢

@Babykingincoming - hey, the only thing that relieved symptoms for me was the pine tar soap. I used to have a bath every night and use it. It did seem to calm the stinging for a short period and take the best out of the spots
