Feel like shit and getting worse - 10 weeks

Hi just wondering if anyone has any words of advice please because I'm really struggling. Found out I was pregnant 2 weeks ago and I felt fine. Since then I've got progressively more poorly. I tend to get really sick on an evening and can't eat, get a banging headache. I've felt too poorly to sleep the last few nights as I feel really sick laid down so have just been propped up in bed.

I've been sick tonight at the smell of tea cooking and now I'm trying to sip a peppermint tea but my throat is so sore from throwing up. Going to make a GP appt but it's hard to get in. I had my first midwife appt on Monday and she didn't seem concerned, just said hopefully it will ease and to make a GP appt if I'm struggling as they can prescribe something to help the sickness.

Anyway just wondering if it's normal to get more poorly as I thought sickness eased off at 12 weeks so why am I feeling worse and worse?? Does anyone have any experience of throwing up on an evening not morning and did it ease up for you?

Thanks Sad

I kept reading that the nausea and symptoms would start easing after week 10-11 and for me those weeks were the worst ever. I used to wake up fine but after lunch I would start feeling miserable until bed time. I did not actually get sick but the nausea and sick feeling was overwhelming. I'm sorry I can offer any solution. For me it stopped around week 14, and it was sth that happened overnight.

Hi OP, sorry to hear you’re struggling. It made me really down always feeling sick and not being able to enjoy food.

For me the sickness was worse between weeks 10-14, then a bit easier weeks 14-16 and then much much better.

Mention that you’re pregnant when you try and get a GP app. That should help you get in.

No other words of advise just try and eat plenty of what you can.

I'm in the same boat. This is my second pregnancy and my sickness was always in the evening last time as well. I'm 11 weeks now and it's so bad at night I can't sleep. Really fun when looking after a 1 year old who gets up at 5am! I'm hoping it'll ease for you soon and congrats on your pregnancy.

@Lostintranslatio That is reassuring to hear it stopped around week 14 thank you!! Hopefully that happens with me because this is fucking miserable :(

Thanks @PinkPlantCase, food is one of my favourite things so like you say, it's really disheartening when you can't enjoy it and it just tastes horrible because you've been throwing up! Haven't managed to get through to the GP yet but will try again Monday.

Thank you @User65412 and congrats on yours too! Hats off to you for looking after a 1 year old too, absolutely no idea how you are managing to do that!! Really hope it eases for you again soon too :)
