Hi so i found out today im pregnant, i think im about 4-5 weeks but this is my first pregnancy and do not have a clue where to start. When in the best time to tell a professional and who do i tell is it my gp? Im asking first as ive heard some horror stories of some people contacting their gp etc, and them saying to ring back when they're more far gone so im not sure when's the best time to contact.
Any advice would be appreciated thanks!!

First of all, congratulations! You need to get the ball rolling so the booking in and 12 week scan appointments can be arranged. Call your gp’s office and ask them next steps. I had to self refer to the local midwife unit online, who then got in touch to arrange my booking in appointment.

Congratulations! I think different areas work differently, i called my gp when i was 5 weeks and i was given a booking appointment at the surgery for when i was 8 weeks xx your best bet is to ring your doctor and see what they say xx

Dunno if it works the same as mine was about 3 years 9 months ago but I rang GP literally the next day after I found out I was pregnant. Got an appointment the following day and she did an assessment and assigned me to a midwife who booked me in for my 12 week scan. Whilst waiting for the scan I believe I saw my midwife once.
