I am about 8-10 weeks pg with my 2nd child and am really struggling with the ms this time around but I seem to have a problem with bladder control too at the same time. Rest of the time bladder control is fine, no probs. Is this normal?

Thanks in advance

sorry to clarify it is only a problem whilst physically being sick. x

vomiting puts a huge strain on the pelvic floor muscles. Try and make sure that you go to the toliet first perhaps? I know it's difficult to predict sometimes.

And pelvic floor exercises, every day.

I hope your morning sickness gets better soon - it's horrible isn't it!

or sit on the toilet with a bucket. yes, morning sickness is just horrible.

bubblagirl · 09/01/2008 18:08

it is normal i used to laugh as if being sick in loo always had to have towel between my legs so heaving laughing and weeing at same time

i no longer do it now my ds is born i will say its just the pressure on your bladder hope you feel better soon

yes even pre children if being violently sick I would leak sometimes

do kegels and empty your bladder frequently so when something happens like sneezing, vomiting etc it is not such a problem

Yokefleet · 09/01/2008 18:13

thanks guys!

Must be pg brain of mush but I really hadn't thought about sitting on the loo and being sick into something else - doh!
Thanks everyone x

Yep, had that too. i cry (rather than laugh) when being sick, and its felt like i was leeking, top, middle and bottom.

then the MS stopped, but had a heavy cough (chest infestion) over Christmas and the weeing was even worse. with every heavy cough.

Belgo is absolutely right, re pelvic floor excercises.

goodluck

Yokefleet I agree with others, don't worry it's par for the course. I am exactly the same last week I was being sick so violently that I didn't even have time to get my normal standby ready (a big wad of loo roll between my legs just in case!) and there was a really big puddle on the floor where I was crouching by the loo when I'd finished vomiting my jeans were soaked and I felt so ridiculous!

Are you trying all the normal things for the ms? seabands etc? if it's really bad visit the dr's they might be able to prescribe something that helps, good luck. Fingers crossed it will ease off soon for you.
