I've been pumping milk for nearly 5 months since my baby was born and in the last 2 weeks I've been losing so much hair, I have to bald spots by my temples and I'm losing it at the front too.
Has anyone else had this or this there any advice anyone can give ? I'm devastated 😪

This is quite normal. Most women will experience some post partum hair loss. Mostly it's to do with your hormones adjusting and your hair growth cycles returning to their pre pregnancy state.

It does stop and the hair grows back. For now take some hair vitamins and try not to worry.

It's not due to how you feed baby either.

As PP said, it's post-partum hair loss and is normal.

Essentially, during pregnancy the hair that would normally drop out doesn't. Then, when the hormones wear off post-partum, it all falls out within a few weeks, which can look fairly dramatic! Some women end up with temporary bald patches. Don't worry, it does grow back in.

Yep absolutely normal sorry. It'll slow down and eventually stop tho x

Do you have long hair? Mine was mid back length and my hairdresser recommended taking it shorter whilst breastfeeding, so that the weight of the hair wasn't putting extra stress on the follicles as well as all the hormonal stuff. I took it up to just shoulder length and it did make a difference. Not to the colour though, as all the bits at the front are growing back grey 😭

Yes, a postpartum thing alas! It's because your hair doesn't shed as normal during pregnancy, hence why hair often looks so thick and luscious, but then it all catches up later! Nothing to do with pumping. It will grow back. I was clogging up the shower every day when mine was at its peak!

Yup, I agree with everyone else that it’s a normal post partum thing and not a pumping thing. Flowers
