Hi,

This question is for UK mummy’s who have appointments with the NHS.

What do they test for 28 weeks pregnant on the blood test? Is it exactly the same as the 9 week ? Eg, blood count, hiv, hepatitis urine etc? Or is it just a blood count? Should I request anything extra?

I can only speak from experience but at my 28 week app nothing happened I had a GD blood tests so they done all my bloods at hospital and just said to me have you had your 28 week bloods I said no they said that’s fine then we’ll do them now. You could ask what it is am quite laid back that I didn’t.

I thought the 28 weeks test was just for Iron levels, that's what it was when I last had them

Full Blood Count, Grouping and antibody screen, and if any risk factors for GDM then an Hba1c and Random plasma glucose
