Morning sickness

Hi all. This is my third pregnancy but second baby. First ended before 6 weeks so can't comment on the symptoms. Last time my sickness was so bad I was bedridden from about week 5-9 with just awful nausea and fatigue. Went to the drs and prescribed iron as it was low. Once meds kicked in I felt so much better I'm wondering if I was so ill because of that or whether it was a coincidence it started to go when I was medicated.

My big question is in second pregnancies have you found sickness worse or better? I don't think I can survive being so ill again especially as I start a new job this week and have a toddler. Can't just sleep it off during furlough now 😂

TIA

I think for most women there is some variation between pregnancies. My second was my worst, third my best. Some women notice a difference between the sex of the baby too. I do think being tired is a big factor. If you were very ill last time it might be worth trying to get some medicine prescribed now, before it really kicks in -- there's lots of evidence that the anti-emetics work best if you can get ahead of it. Good luck!

I didn't have any morning sickness during my first pregnancy but I'm now pregnant with my second and I've been Ill since about 5 weeks 🤢 I'm 12 weeks now and finally starting to feel better although still have some food aversion and occasional sickness. I went into this thinking I'd have no sickness again so was surprised when I did.

I really think it varies between pregnancies and just because you had it badly with your first it doesn't mean you will with this one. I've got everything crossed for you!!

Iv found sickness extremely bad this time and it’s only just stopped at 14 weeks. Iv found out it’s a girl this time and I was reading the hormone levels are higher with a female fetus so I think that’s why Iv been super sick. My iron is also low and been prescribed iron but I was being sick multiple times a day and I can tell you, bringing up a dissolved iron table was something I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy!!!

Oh no!!! I think I may start meds now then 😂😂.

Gosh @Nikki037297 that sounds awful. I had a boy last time so if that's true and this is a girl then it's going to be rough 😩

@SpreadingTheLove it definitely doesn't matter on gender then 😆

I've ordered some acupressure bands in hope they keep it at bay
