Is this a small gap? I will have this gap between DC1 and DC2 and panicking it is a small gap
Or is it an average age gap?

Very average. Mine are 20 months apart and people comment that it's quite a small gap. I know smaller though. It'll be fine, don't panic Smile

Average, I’m less than that with both of my siblings and my DC are 21 months - It’s lovely

savedbyanalien · 17/04/2022 13:54

Lol no. That's not even under 2 years?!

29 months I think is pretty normal.

13.5 month gap between mine.

2021 census data. Typical gap between children number 1 and 2 is described as ‘just over 2 years’. So yes, 29 months is around average. Maybe unsurprisingly, this gap has decreased over the years, as the average age of first time mothers increases.

Just because it’s average doesn’t mean it’s not hard work though!

GoodSoup · 17/04/2022 14:28

So 2 and a half years? That’s entirely normal. Most of my friends have that gap, me included.

Snugglemuffins4me · 17/04/2022 14:41

I have 29 months between my 1st and 2nd and when number 3 arrives in June there will be 29 months between them and the 2nd .

We never planned the gap this way I got pregnant while breastfeeding both times at 20 months .

I think it’s worked well for us .

Mommabear20 · 17/04/2022 15:07

I have a 13 month age gap between mine! 😂 and there'll only be a 17 month age gap between my current youngest and the one I'm currently pregnant with!

Unsureaboutit9 · 17/04/2022 15:09

It’s more than 2 years, so it’s not a small gap, no point panicking now anyway! Itl be nice having them grow up relatively close in age.

Lulu1919 · 17/04/2022 15:12

Mine have 18 month gap

Suzi9989 · 17/04/2022 15:15

No panic! Am sure you will make it work 💐

PrincessPaws · 17/04/2022 15:33

2 years 5 months? I'd say that would be a pretty average period of time

Bunnybingesoneggs · 17/04/2022 15:56

I have 2 ds's with that gap. Still besties at 18 and 20!!

RSmamaa · 17/04/2022 16:55

I have a 13 month old and I'm 5 weeks pregnant. 29 months is a very normal gap. Mine will be 20/21 apart
