Can I buy a carry cot mattress on its own? Do I need to?

Hi all

Some lovely friends gave us a free Britax travel system which is in v. good nick but about five years old.

I am going to buy a Moses Basket anyway but I imagine the LO will be in the carry cot quite often so do I still need to get a new mattress for it (and is that even possible?) or will cleaning it be enough?

Thanks!

if they will be sleeping in the carrycot all night every night I'd consider it, but if it's only as a pram and for daytime naps don't bother.

We bought a new matress for our pram (Quinny) for our second son. I'd looked after it but when I took the cover off there were dubious stains I washed it but it shrank...

Feel better he has a clean new, matress as Ds1 started off with brand new.
