Struggling to cope...

I'm 4 weeks and 3 days pregnant after 6 years of infertility (including multiple miscarriages).
I found out on 11/04 (conception was either 30/03 or 01/04) with 2 VERY faint positive strip tests. The next day I had a faint but obviously positive FRER (top test in the picture).
The second test down was 13/04, the third was 15/04 and the bottom test was this morning with FMU.
Things were going fine until today when I started having cramps and a tiny amount of brown tinge in my CM. The cramps are mild and I know brown CM isn't necessarily a bad thing but this is also how my last miscarriage started.
Not sure why I'm posting since I don't really have a question, maybe just hoping to hear some positive stories from those who've been in a similar situation and things turned out ok?
I'm just struggling to cope with the worry at the moment :(

I had cramps for the first few weeks and brown cm between 4 and 5 weeks. I'm 10w now and had a scan at 7+3 and all was good xx

Thanks, that's great to hear. Congratulations, hope it all goes well for you :) I'm booked in for a reassurance scan between 6 and 7 weeks but I don't usually get that far into the pregnancy so we'll have to just wait and see.

I had this op and my 3 year old is tucked up in bed.
Are you on progesterone by any chance?

I requested this during my last pregnancy and the gp looked at me daft and refused. The best she would do (and that was after I practically begged) was to send me for a blood test to check my progesterone levels, pointless in my opinion, as it could change at any time.

I had brown discharge and a little cramping as well. Currently 34w. Congratulations :)

dilydaly · 17/04/2022 11:13

Shocked to say that (for now) the brown tinge has gone. Yesterday was my period due day not sure if that had anything to do with it. The cramps are still there, mild and coming and going.

I had it on and off for a week.
My IVF clinic checked me over and just basically said it's old blood. Your cervix may be abit irritated.
The cramping, whilst baby is teeny tiny your body is already starting to grow etc.

If the pain picks up and the spotting turns bright red ring your EPU.

Thanks

I also currently have covid, which is worrying me sick. I am fully vaccinated but still worried about what the consequences could be for the baby.

I had loads of cramps for the first 8 weeks of pregnancy (far worse than period pains) and had a bit of brown tinged cervical mucus.

Everything was completely fine with the baby, I’m currently 35 weeks pregnant and he’s happily punching my bladder as we speak!

CSR721 · 18/04/2022 07:31

@dilydaly I also had covid at 6w and scan showed everything was fine, midwife wasn't worried when I mentioned it x

that's great and reassuring. I have a scan at almost 7 weeks booked in, so fingers crossed they tell me the same!

I bled the day my period was due, mostly brown but some red too, lasted from about 6pm through the night. I'm now 12 weeks and at last scan (10+5) baby was totally well and healthy. I called EPU and they said bleeding around your period due date is really common and normal. Fingers crossed for you.

Aprildaisyx · 18/04/2022 21:05

Hi had a faint pregnancy line around the same time then had two days of brown light spotting (after a previous miscarriage I assumed it was going to happen again), but I’m 99% sure it was implantation bleeding as after this the tests went from faint lines to dye stealers!
I booked a private scan at 7 weeks which was very reassuring :).

I also bled and spotted last week (at 11 weeks) but had a scan and baby was jumping around with a heartbeat.
I’ve pretty much had cramping throughout too.

I have my 12 week scan tomorrow so crossing everything that everything will be fine still 🤞🤞.

Moonshine160 · 18/04/2022 21:30

I had cramping and brown discharge for the first 14 weeks, I’m 17 weeks now and everything has settled down! :)

I have everything crossed for you OP and those are some lovely lines on those tests.

Thanks, that must be what it was then. Glad everything is going well for you, I'd give anything to be at 12 weeks now!

Glad it's all settled for you now :) here is the test from yesterday, first-morning urine. I think the test line is darker than the control line now. Hope the rest of your pregnancy goes well, best of luck :)

Thanks to everyone who took the time to reply to my original post, I can't tell you how much better it made me feel hearing your positive stories. It's really lifted my spirits.
There's been no more sign of the brown discharge and the cramps have settled now too. The photo is of a test I did yesterday with first-morning urine and I have one left to do tomorrow morning, I won't be buying more as they aren't cheap!
I know none of this offers any guarantees but it's made me feel a bit better.
Best of luck to all of us with our journeys, I really hope it goes well for all of you :) xxx

@dilydaly sorry I just saw this, so glad the bleeding stopped. The tests look brilliant, I know it's hard to take comfort from anything at this point but mine looked like that and I think you can at least know it's not a chemical. Good luck for your 7 week scan.
