Currently 16 weeks pregnant and noticed the past 2 days I have alot of discharge in the mornings. As the day goes on I have the feeling of being wet but when I go the toilet and wipe there is nothing. Also been having period type pains on and off throughout the day. I have midwife appointment on 5 days is it worth mentioning to her or is this normal as I read you can get more discharge around this time? Thanks

Hey @Boopsy89
An increase in discharge is definitely normal! I've had it thoughout my pregnancy (now over 37weeks).
The period type pains though might be worth mentioning to your midwife, they are supposed to be your support for whenever you need it. If not, call the midwife line as opposed to your midwife directly and they may be able to help xx

I had loads in my last pregnancy. Hardly any in this. Although may be unrelated, I also had GBS in my last one.

Boopsy89 · 17/04/2022 09:44

@Pamparam what is GBS sorry?

I'm 19 weeks and have definitely had more the past week or so. It is normal to have more though I believe

Some mornings not every morning I will get a very pale greenish/yellowish discharge but no more through the day I can't smell anything from it...I do get thrush quite alot but I don't have any other symptoms of that don't know whether it worth taking thrush treatment and see what happens?

I had loads of discharge in my last pregnancy and thought I had constant thrush too! Turned out I had gbs. Get a swab done x

RLou3 · 17/04/2022 11:48

It was also yellowy greeny discharge and so much of it x

Boopsy89 · 17/04/2022 11:53

@RLou3 sorry what is GBS? Is this something I can ask my midwife to request?

It's group strep b. It's not something that the NHS look for during pregnancy but 99% of other countries do. It should be picked up from a swab though.. yes your midwife will know all about it xx
