Absolutely terrified that I'm having a miscarriage

I'm so so worried 😥 this pregnancy is my second (first was my daughter), I'm 27 and just so scared. I've had brown discharge when I wipe for a couple of days which seems to calm down so am booked in for early scan but yesterday I started feeling less nauseous and I've woken up to feed my daughter as she woke up and my boobs aren't as sore. Absolutely devastated and so scared. I should be 7 weeks on Sunday.

Is there any hope at all??

The epu should arrange a scan, but I had brown discharge around the same time and it was a hematoma that resolved. It could be seen on the scan but my point is sometimes even aside from that bleeding can be very normal.

I completely understand your worry, try and get checked out asap x

Wallawallakoala · 16/04/2022 01:58

The tricky thing about getting a scan at this point is they may not find a heartbeat simply due to gestation, so they may check generally and arrange a scan in a week or so. If they scan and see something like a hematoma though that would explain the bleeding

lovesT · 16/04/2022 02:05

@Wallawallakoala thanks. I was obviously concerned about the brown discharge but know it can happen and still be okay but this loss of symptoms is really worrying me and I just think surely that's it 😥. Scan is Thursday.

Brown discharge is old blood so it might be old implantation blood.

Symptoms come and go, especially so early on.

I bled through my pregnancy and baby was always just fine x

lovesT · 16/04/2022 02:17

@Nomunkat thank you. I'd do anything for it to be okay but just so so scared! The midwife when she booked in the scan said the hope is that it's implantation bleeding but arggh the loss of most symptoms 😥 ...

So glad baby was fine for you though despite bleeding x

If you haven’t had any pain then there’s a good chance everything is ok. I think a little bit of brown blood can be implantation bleeding at that stage.
If it makes you feel any better, I had a heavy bleed at 11 weeks and assumed it was all over but when I went for the scan the baby was fine and they couldn’t see a reason.
My symptoms come and go a lot too.
Obviously you are early days so there is always a chance things won’t work out but your discharge doesn’t sound too unusual. I hope that you get good news from your scan.

Symptoms really do come and go, and a bit of brown blood doesn't mean a miscarriage. But I appreciate it is very hard not to worry. Have you got a scan booked? You just have to try and find ways to deal with the anxiety. I find it useful to say things like "right now I'm pregnant and there is nothing I can do about tomorrow" and also keep busy, but appreciate it isn't easy!

lovesT · 16/04/2022 10:00

@Merryclaire thank you ❤️ I've beard that symptoms come and go I just felt like the two together must mean something bad. Obviously I won't know until the scan on Thursday but my sore boobs are back and maybe feel slightly nauseous again. Never have I wanted to feel sick so much haha.

@Keha thank you X

Yes it's so hard not to worry especially at 3am! Typically my daughter had finally slept well after weeks but I didn't 🙄. Some.of my symptoms are back this morning so I still feel worried but not as worried. Really hope things are okay. Yes my scan is booked for Thursday morning at the EPU so will know more then but it's such a long wait. That's good advice, I'll try and keep busy over the next few days. My symptoms coming back a bit has given me a bit more hope.

I'll update on here as so many OPs don't update which is hard when others are looking for answers.

@lovesT haha - yes I know exactly what you mean as I lost my symptoms when I had my bleed too. Good news they have returned then. Everything crossed for you, and let us know how you get on.

lovesT · 16/04/2022 10:09

Also apart from a bit of cramping a few days ago I haven't had anything and it didn't last long. I remember having cramps for weeks with my daughter so that didn't concern me at the time as it wasn't too bad

OP posts:
lovesT · 16/04/2022 20:59

Pretty sure I had a bit of pink mixed with the brown this evening, not sure what that means 😥 no cramps but have felt normal pregnancy stretching today.

I'm also in the same boat, so hope you don't mind me jumping on @lovesT
We're just over 6 years into our infertility journey (multiple miscarriages along the way). I'm currently 4 weeks 3 days and have started feeling mild cramps and have a brown tinge to my cm (as of today). I'm assuming that it's going to be another miscarriage :(
It's too early for EPU to do a scan so it's just a case of waiting and seeing what happens.
Got all my fingers and toes crossed for you x

ireneadler101 · 17/04/2022 10:35

I'm in a similar boat to the OP - started with some very light brown/pink when I wiped yesterday, and yesterday evening it changed to red/brown blood (but not very much). No real cramping but some mild aches. Spent most of yesterday at A&E but they wouldn't scan as I wasn't in pain and didn't have heavy bleeding. I have my 12 week scan on Thursday and so worried that this is the end. Will try and get seen by the EPU on Tuesday but no guarantees. Just so worried things will get worse 😢

lovesT · 17/04/2022 10:50

@dilydaly so sorry it has been such a long journey for you 😥 I hope that it's just some spotting and not miscarriage bit it's so horrible not knowing. Sorry you're going through this x

@ireneadler101 I really hope you get some answers soon. I tried to book a private scan for today but there is nothing available near us so looks like I'll have to wait until Thursday. I hope you get some answers soon, it's so hard not knowing x

Thank you :) I'm shocked to say that the brown tinge has gone (nothing since waking around 6am). The cramps are mild but still there, coming and going, nothing too painful though. So afraid to be hopeful!

Amijustagrump · 17/04/2022 15:52

I had both brown discharge and about a periods worth of bright red blood in one go! I now have a 3 month old- fingers crossed for you Flowers

lovesT · 17/04/2022 19:00

@Amijustagrump thank you, that's reassuring ❤️ husband and I have decided to book a private scan tomorrow as he can't make it to the NHS one, so hopefully tomorrow we'll have a better idea

@lovesT it was so scary and we couldn't believe he was still there! I hope tomorrow goes well for you Flowers

lovesT · 18/04/2022 09:35

We have the private scan booked for this afternoon. I'm really scared and don't know what to expect. Brown discharge has stopped but just so worried about what we could be told today!

I hope everyone else going through similar is okay x
