Measuring behind at 12 week scan

I went for my 12 week scan today and I was expecting to be a bit behind as my private scan on 3rd April put me at 10 weeks, I only measured 11 weeks today so they said they cannot do the combined screening etc yet because the baby only measured 42.2mm and needs to be over 45mm I have long cycles when I asked if I should be worried about being further behind they said no it can happen but I can’t help but worry! Has anyone else had to go back a week later for the NT combined screening and how much growth was there in that week? Of course I’m very happy that we saw the baby and heard the heartbeat. I just wish I could stop being convinced something bad is going to happen!

I haven’t experienced this but didn’t want you to go unanswered. If they said you shouldn’t be worried, then I’d try to trust their judgement as they do scans all day long. One week behind doesn’t sound a huge amount. Hopefully they can reassure you at the next appointment.
If you can afford it, maybe book some private scans to check growth as you go along?
Although it if is a genuine concern, they will want to scan you again soon anyway.
Let us know how you get on.

@Blondiiie yes had this with my first. She was awkward at all her other scans too. I was on first name terms with the sonographer what with the number of times we had to go back.
DC1 is now 4 and still likes things to be done on her terms Grin
Try not to worry (easier said than done, I know). Wishing you a healthy, happy pregnancy. FlowersCake

Also, I should have said, I’m the opposite to you in that I have short cycles and that impacted my due date by a few days as at the scan the baby was slightly ahead - so only logical it’s the same in reverse?
