Hi everyone! This is my first post I’m almost 24 and pregnant with my first🙂 just got first scan yesterday which was the 12 week one and looking for opinions on how the baby looks as the sonographer really rushed me, felt quite bad after and it seemed like they didn’t care I’m worried about defects it’s so blurry you can’t really see a nose bone or nunchal transparency I think it’s called if anyone I’ve no experience in ultrasound pics if anyone can share if this looks normal… also opinions on nub theory if it’s a girl or boy thanks xxxx

Your photo isn’t showing. I wouldn’t worry about blurry pics though, the sonographer knows what they are looking for. They don’t tell you every detail. If they saw a problem at this stage they would have told you. The fact they have printed the photos means that everything is fine. Good luck.

Firstly, there are no images. Secondly, this is an internet site of unqualified randoms who cannot offer medical advice/opinion, not a group of sonographers. I believe you are referring to the Michael fold and there will have been a measurement. If it was outside parameters then you would have been advised. The sonographers are looking for specific things and checking them off, not having a slow jolly and the pictures you get are of no medical importance, they don’t need to be clear as the sonographers have what they need, they just give you something to stick on your fridge.

*Nuchal fold. Fuck knows what Michael isConfused.

Your radiographer is trained to read and interpret all sorts of scans, people on Mumsnet or any other Internet forum or site are not. I'd strongly suggest leaving it to the experts.

Hi everyone! Had my 12 week ultrasound at 13 + 5 and the pictures we got were quite rubbish (blurry) and was wondering if anyone could take a guess for boy or girl? We're happy either way, just curious on your thoughts if you have one. Thanks xxxx
