Has anyone had the same happen? my period was 6 days late I tested on Friday night bfp after doing 3 ovulation strips before for fun as I didn’t have any pregnancy tests at home, they were blazing but I was late so obviously knew I wasn’t ovulating. The pregnancy tests that night came up straight away so I done a clear blue digital which came up 3+ so i should of been around 5 weeks going off my last period (1st March) however I can only recall dtd on the 21st of March so I thought I ovulated late but If the clear blue says I conceived over 3 weeks ago the dates don’t add up!! 🙈 so confused right now trying to work this all out.

3 weeks ago today was the 22nd so it adds up to me?

Sorry these tests were taken Friday! I'm not sure if the couple of days would matter? Just on the clear blue box it says that 3+ means I conceived over 3 weeks ago 😵‍💫 I guess the only real way to know for sure is an early scan!

I'm not sure you really need need to work anything else out?

First day of LMP was 1st March, if you're getting good positive tests then you are pregnant. Based on last LMP you would be about 6 weeks now.

Don't make it complicated, the body can be weird Grin just get booked in with the midwife or gp or whomever.

Congratulations.

You can’t rely on tests or your last period for a date. Unfortunately an early scan also isn’t any good for dating purposes. The right level of hcg for each week is a huge range and the CB test just relies on the average. There are other reasons rather than conceiving early that can cause higher hcg eg twins or chromosome abnormalities but these are statistically much less likely.

Those tests aren't meant to be accurate to the day. They give a rough idea, that's all. Also you can conceive up to five days after having sex anyway as the sperm can stay alive under peak fertile conditions.

Thank you, that's helpful x
